Cofounder Vine Finally Releases A Similar Video Application

If you are still mourning the loss of the Vine application, now you can have fun. There is a new application to fill in the blanks. Yep, co-founder of Vine, Dom Hofmann, finally launched Byte, a video application intended to be the successor to the Vine application.

As we all know, the video application with 6 seconds repetition (loop) has been turned off by Twitter in 2016. Since then, Hofmann has tried to make a follow-up application from Vine. However, the application is experiencing delays because it is funded with its own pocket.

"Today we are bringing back a 6 second looping video application and a new community for people who like it," Byte tweeted on Twitter. "This is called Byte and both are familiar and new. We hope it will resonate with people who feel something is missing."

Like Vine, the six second looping video feature is also displayed by Byte. It has a camera application that allows you to make stop-motion style video types that Vine has relied on in the past. In the Bytes application portal, you can see posts chosen by the editor yourself or explore various user submissions.

The company also said it plans to introduce a "partner program" that will allow influencers to be paid for their work. What is clear, Bytes needs a figure who is really popular if he hopes to find an audience in a world that is already dominated by Instagram and TikTok.

Netflix Will Release The Animated Version of The Witcher

Last year, we both knew that Netflix had released a TV series called The Witcher with main character Henry Cavill. According to them, this series is the most watched (estimated to have been watched by as many as 76 million) in the first four weeks of its release.

This is why, it is not surprising that Netflix looks for other advantages from the Witcher franchise. Since then, they announced that they will release an animated film based on The Witcher, dubbed The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. According to the brief description, "The Witcher's world develops in this anime film and further explores the new threats facing the Continent."

At this time, there are no additional details such as casting the cast. However, the film is expected to feature producers Lauren Hissrich and Beau DeMayo who are behind the TV series. The film will also be animated by Studio Mir, a Korean animation studio that has made the film The Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender.

There is no time limit when this animated film will be released. Meanwhile, the second season of The Witcher series is expected to be released in 2021. It looks like the Animation version will be released this year to fill the gap until 2021.

Although Support Ends, 26% of Computers Still Use Windows 7

The Microsoft Windows 7 operating system (OS) was released more than a decade ago. Since then, further OS versions have also been launched, such as Windows 8 and Windows 10. It is not surprising if Microsoft finally decides to officially end support for Windows 7.

Microsoft has warned Windows 7 users that support will end soon and on January 14, 2020, that support is officially stopped. However, even though it has been running for more than a decade, data from Netmarketshare (as of January 2020) revealed that around 26% of PCs still run the "old" OS.

Not surprisingly, many are hesitant to move to Windows 10. This is because of the bad reputation Windows 8 brings and also the hardware requirements that are also quite high for Windows 10. Even so, continuing to use Windows 7 means there will be no more patches and security updates. This runs the risk of an open computer to be exploited and attacked.
