Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos Reportedly Stepping Back Later This Year

Everyone knows that Bezos is the CEO of the Amazon company and also one of the richest people in the world. However, Bezos has recently announced that in Q3 2021, he will step down from his role as CEO at Amazon.

Instead, Bezos will focus on several of his other projects. His successor is Andy Jassy, a longtime man at Amazon since 1997, just a few years after the company was founded. Jassy has since led Amazon Web Services (mostly an internet infrastructure business) since its inception and continues to be one of Amazon's most profitable ventures.

In a letter written to employees, Bezos said, "I am pleased to announce that this Q3 I will be transitioning to Amazon Board Executive Chairman and Andy Jassy will be CEO ... I intend to focus my energies and attention on new products. and initial initiative. ".

Based on this, it looks like Bezos will continue to stay on Amazon albeit in a different capacity. Bezos also adds, "Being the CEO of Amazon is a deep responsibility, and it takes a lot of time. When you have a responsibility like that, it's hard to pay attention to anything else."
